J2534 Toolbox Running Method and Precautions

1. The VCI needs to be powered on and connected through a type-B to type-C data cable. J2534 Toolbox will automatically connect and read the VCI serial number, version number, and authorization information (device SN): IP919M-, D9MAX-, X100M2-.

Below is an example of a successful connection with the IP919MAX.)

Note: If you see a connection failure (Device Not Connected or Unauthorized), please perform the following checks:

J2534J2534

a. Currently, XTOOL devices authorized to support the J2531 protocol include: IP919MAX, D9MAX, X100MAX2. If the device is not one of these models, the VCI will display "Unauthorized."

b. Ensure the J2534 Toolbox version is updated to the latest version. (If an upgrade button appears next to the version number, this indicates the driver is not the latest. Please click the button to update and try reconnecting.)

c. Confirm that the ignition switch is turned on and that the VCI is powered on and functioning properly.

d. Check the device manager to confirm that a USB serial device (COM) is listed in My Computer > Properties > Device Manager.

2. The J2534 Toolbox can be opened or closed through the toolbar at the bottom right of your computer screen.

Note: When the driver is successfully connected, the icon will be displayed in blue (Img. 1). If the connection is not successful, the icon will appear in gray (Img. 2). If the icon is gray, please refer to section 1 for troubleshooting.
